JUN2016-EN-1 $400 *SOLD*
JUN2016-EN-1 $400 *SOLD* English walnut! Very rare and typically very expensive (most start at a grand), this piece has good mineral streaks on one side. While the other side doesn't display the mineral streaks so dramatically, remember that they are falling off through the blank, so down inside where the gunstock is they may still be there! To find a piece of English walnut (also called French but it's the same thing) at this price point with mineral streaks is an amazing find!

Feather1 $1500 *SOLD*
Feather1 $1500 *SOLD* Yep, now we're talking. This is the kind of wood I swoon over and I doubt there is any other airgunner that has the walnut disease as bad as I have it to pony up for a blank like this. Figure like this is called 'feather' and occurs at the junction of the first large branch. A giant $10,000 walnut tree may only yield one or two blanks like this, and most of them are not long enough for a rifle, so most of these are seen on shotguns. This is a special rare find. whiscombe
